Grand Girls Assembly State of Ohio Signature Events
Debutante Ball
The Grand Girls Assembly (GGA) Debutante Ball is a longstanding tradition sponsored by Amaranth Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Prince Hall Affiliated, State of Ohio. Established through the vision of Mrs. Hattie B. Alexander in 1952, the Girls Assembly was created to encourage young ladies to pursue excellence while “Seeking Higher Goals.”
Since 1953, the Debutante Program has provided young women with opportunities for leadership development, scholarship, mentorship, community service, and cultural enrichment. The program is designed to support high school senior young ladies as they prepare for higher education and future success.
Throughout the program, debutantes participate in workshops, service projects, mentoring experiences, and personal development activities that promote confidence, academic achievement, and civic involvement. Each participant is paired with a mentor who provides guidance and encouragement during the program experience.
The Debutante Ball serves as the culminating celebration where young ladies are formally presented to society and recognized for their accomplishments. Scholarships and awards are presented to participants for academic excellence, community service, leadership, and overall participation.
